TradeStation EasyLanguage Specialist

EasyLanguage Code Written for YouI have a lifetime career of software engineering, and years of EasyLanguage programming and trading the strategies I have written. I have fallen in all the over-optimizing pitfalls, and have learned to avoid those. I have discovered all the strengths and shortcomings of EasyLanguage, and how to work around them. In short, whatever needs to be done with EasyLanguage, I can do it.

I write all the strategies and indicators we provide you with here at Simple Trading Rules, and I wrote all the strategies, indicators and functions for Simple Automatic Trading. I also write indicators and strategies for others – you can see some of their comments to the right. My work is guaranteed bug-free.

  1. Amber,

I am looking to build a simple deactivation rule for my orders in tradestation. I trade futures markets and am looking for the following.

Entry using a stop market order but only valid up to a certain time in the future.

Tradestation has an activation rule based on time but it does the opposite of what i am looking for. it only activates an order after a certain time.

Please let me know if this is something you could build for me.

  2. Hi Amber- I’m a TS user myself but I have a project that would involve Sterling Trader and Trade Ideas software. Is this something that you are familiar with or might you have a recommendation on where to go? Many thanks,Fred.

    • Hi Fred,
As I said before, programs for Sterling Trader must be done in C# or VB, using Sterling’s ActiveX API, and I am not familiar with that platform. I really don’t know anything about Trade Ideas. So, I am not the one to help you out with your project on these platforms, and I don’t know anyone who could do it for you.

Good luck finding someone to help (or deciding to stick with TradeStation, in which case I can help you 😉 )

  3. I have an indicator written for Tradestation that uses objects and would like it written for Multicharts. Is this something you can do

    • Hi Mark,

EasyLanguage does run on Multicharts, but the results are not guaranteed to be the same as when run on TradeStation. I have used Multicharts before, but found various problems and decided not to work on that platform any more. Now, as that was a few years ago, perhaps they are easier to work with now. So – I’m not very excited about it, but perhaps could be talked into it. If you want to discuss this more, go to the contact page and send me a message.

      Thanks
      Amber

  4. This is probably an odd question but here goes anyway. Do you know what language Tradestation 9.5 Windows software is written in? C++, C#? I have an idea for writing my own software with the Windows type functionality in TS and hoping it’s C# which is easier than C++. My idea isn’t related to trading at all but for database management monitoring. Thank you.

  5. My name is Maximiliano Maddalena you write from Republica Argentina.
My English is not very good.
I operate with Tradestaion and want to develop a strategy with graphics 15 minutes.
The strategy is quite simple in principle to trade an ETF like TNA, then once tested the would have to improve.
    You can help me?
That would have cost about a first phase.

    Best regards

  6. Hi Amber,
When you agree to write the code for a client, who owns the code? When the client pays you to do a job, does he/she have proprietary rights to the code, and is it secure?
    Thanks, Ed

    • Hi Ed,
Each contract can be different, and we can negotiate the terms.

Generally, however, the agreement is that you, the client, owns the code. I send you open code, so you can do whatever you want with it. I also reserve the right to use the indicator or trade the strategy on my own account if I want to.

Hope to hear from you soon –
      Amber

  7. What is the cost to write a trading code for tradestation?

    • Hi Julio,

What we would do is first write a spec, so we know what it is we will be building. Then, I estimate how long it will take me to write it, and I tell you the fee I will charge for the study. That way you don’t have an open-ended contract, without knowing how much it will cost you. Plus, we have the written spec, so we know if the strategy is doing what it is designed to do.

I base my fee on $100/hour.

Also, my code is guaranteed bug free.

Let me know if you’d like to proceed further, and thank you for contacting me.
      Amber

  8. hello
do you also program on sterling trader
    thank you

    • Hi
Programs for Sterling Trader must be done in C# or VB, using Sterling’s ActiveX API, and I am not familiar with that platform. So, no, as I restrict my projects to EasyLanguage (TradeStation or MultiCharts) and java.

      Thanks for the inquiry –
      Amber
